Hey everyone! My name is Meredith Davis, and I have the privilege of serving as Phi Mu’s Philanthropy Chair this year. Serving alongside the incredible women of the Alpha Mu chapter has been a dream come true, and it is an honor to work with such selfless people who push me to go above and beyond for our philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). Phi Mu Alpha Mu supports Children’s Miracle Network through philanthropic efforts to raise money to help children in need.
We are proud of our chapter’s involvement in raising funds and awareness to support CMNH. To do so, we hosted a Battle of the Bands, where five local bands competed for a cash prize. This event alone resulted in raising over $30,000! Some of our favorite philanthropy events include Carnations for Kids, where we host a booth on the concourse on Valentine’s Day selling carnations to students. Another special philanthropy event is our Crawfish Boil, which we partner on with another on-campus organization.
We are so lucky to have a local CMNH hospital to support in Columbus, Georgia, so not only do we get to raise awareness and funds, but we are also able to build a direct relationship with the children being treated, as well as their families and hospital staff. Supporting these sweet Miracle Families is one of the most meaningful parts of being a Phi Mu!
